A healthy and a balanced diet is a must to grow taller. The children must take a nutritious diet in the years of the growth.

The foods that are adequately supplied with the proteins, vitamins and minerals can surely add to your height. Proteins contain amino acids that make the enzymes, hormones and the antibodies that stimulate the growth of the body. Green leafy vegetables, eggs and the milk are the foods that contain large amounts of proteins.

The foods that are rich in fats and carbohydrates decrease the activity of the growth hormone. The foods that are very rich in fats and carbohydrates should thus be excluded from the diet of the person willing to grow taller. Bread, rice and cereals are some such food items that should be avoided.

Calcium is of immense importance for the increase of the height. Milk and other dairy products that contain the adequate quantity of calcium should be a part of the diet. The foods that are rich in vitamin C like the citrus fruits promote the absorption of the calcium and the phosphorous in the body. Meats that are rich in lipids reduce the growth of the bones.
